Islamabad—Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will inaugurate its regional campus at Mianwali on Tuesday. The campus is built at Mianwali behind Govt. Comprehensive High School at the area of 31800 square foot with the cost of 92- million rupees. The campus will be inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor, AIOU, Professor Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi.
The newly constructed building of AIOU Regional Campus Mianwali will be equipped with latest’ ‘state-of-the art’ technology, including computer labs,video conferencing systems, examination hall, class rooms, Information Counters, library and Internet facility. It will facilitate twenty five thousand students of AIOU who live around the region.
The campus is a part of the AIOU’s strategy to promote job- oriented education and to ensure access to equal quality education across the country. “The AIOU has started working on accessibility to the quality education through state-of-the-art technology for all segments of society at their door-steps by setting up model study centers and regional campuses across the country.
